Practising sport in Trentino is
a natural, instinctive activity. This is thanks to the varied,
attractive shape of this region, which offers a very wide range of
incredible changing environments, from the 3,000-metre-high peaks
in the perennial glaciers, to the Mediterranean climate of Arco
and of lake Garda.
Thanks, indeed, to the deep-rooted sport tradition and to the
organising ability of almost 700 associations, clubs and companies
- most of them run by volunteers - that follow and promote the
different disciplines, helped by high-quality, modern and
efficient structures, built through the generous investments of
the Autonomous Province of Trento.
From this perfect match between sporting activity and hospitality
originates one of the most important reasons for holidaying in
Trentino, considered a small “paradise” for lovers of active
stays; as a matter of fact, our region can offer healthy,
phisically demandind activities as well as moments of complete
relaxation.
For the children of our land, situated as it is in the heart of
the Alps, feels somehow natural, a short time after taking their
first steps, to venture up some mountain paths or, over the
winter, to take on skiing. Much in the same way, our guests will,
within a few days, be longing to “spice up” their holidays with
some hiking, a refreshing swim in a pool, a tennis game or a
mountain bike ride.
Not to mention experienced sportsmen and sport-lovers who,
supported by their enthusiasm, come to Trentino sure to find the
ideal theatre for practising their favourite activity: from
trekking to mountaineering at all levels, from sailing to
windsurfing, from canoeing and kayaking to horse riding.
Just a small note, finally, to say (although it should be taken
for granted considering the great attention that all guests of our
region pay to nature and the environment) that in sport, just as
in real life, limits must be looked for within ourselves, and
comparisons made with our actual energies and abilities. According
to this attitude, every action which challanges the elements
surrounding us is nothing but absurd, and a more fulfilling
approach must be preferred, based on moderation, common sense and
respect for the environment we live in. Safety for everybody while
practising sport is our motto.
